Data Recorder FAQs

How do I control the data recorder?

The primary control interface on all our data recorder is a standard web browser. Virtually any host running a commercial browser can act as a controller. A network connection and crossover Ethernet cable are required.  The specific IP address of your recorder is supplied in the user manual.  Contact our tech support team if you need to change the default IP address.

Can I have more then one computer controlling the recorder at a time?

All of our DR products are designed to be controlled by a single host. If more than one host tries to control the recorder over the Ethernet bus, the recorder may stop functioning and require a hard reset to resume operation.

What kind of input/output signals do your recorders accept?

The DR7000 products provide input/output support for ECL signals. The signals are 8 bits wide, plus clock. Built-in bit packing techniques allow signals with less than 8-bits to be stored while maximizing record time. Alternate interfaces are also available for specific customer applications. Future generations of the recorder will offer additional interface options.

The modular I/O of our DR6000 and DR8000 products support a number of standard analog and digital signal types. Interface options include ECL, LVDS, Optical, and Analog modules. Consult your sales representative for more specific information.
